How do we know there is someone on the other side?

A single question, answered from two opposite directions.

From the outsideAt Hummand, I build infrastructure to verify humanity: liveness in the age of deepfakes, proof of personhood, verifiable identity and delegation for AI agents. The technical side of the question: proving there is a real person on the other side of the screen.

From the insideAs a researcher, I study machine consciousness, cognition, and AI welfare. The philosophical side of the same question: whether there is, in fact, someone inside the system.

What I build

Hummand. Digital identity and proof of humanity as infrastructure: deepfake-resistant liveness, proof of personhood, and verifiable identity for people and for the AI agents acting on their behalf. GovTech with products in production.
The Alert. Uptime monitoring and observability platform: monitors, cascading alerts, status pages, and service dependency mapping.
Nameplate. Public platform for monitoring and forecasting renewable energy curtailment in Northeast Brazil: a live counter of wasted energy, 24–72h forecasts, and public accuracy backtesting, built on open data from ONS, Brazil's grid operator. A project of the Ouse Criar program (FAPESQ/SEE-PB), developed by students at ECIT Henrique Fernandes de Farias under my mentorship as advising teacher.
Canal Zero. An anonymous channel for reporting school violence, with a hierarchical dashboard aligned with the structure of Paraíba's Regional Education Offices. Requested by the Regional Office and developed by students under my guidance as a teacher, to give a voice to students facing bullying and other forms of violence.
